Functional Neurological Disorder is something that can affect many people living in the UK, it estimated by the BMJ to be a least 100,000 people. It's also been reported in people living with FVSD. It's a condition where the brain malfunctions and fails to communicate with the muscles in the body properly. Unlike with Epilepsy there are no abnormal electrical signals that can be detected with the appropriate diagnostic tests. They can have non-epileptic seizures and find themselves incredibly physically disabled by loss of movement in legs, vison loss, incontinence and even the ability to speak. This particular community has experienced the real care of the NHS at it's worst and knows full well the struggles of families coping with difficult and rarer conditions.
I genuinely felt like I wanted to help raise awareness for this condition. So I spent the week making as much content in my own way as possible.
By this point you're probably wondering why I haven't put this energy into FVSD and that's because my whole life, this whole project is about FVSD as is that of my own children. I want to learn to make GOOD content that people will watch and follow me for and share amongst their followers. Calls to action and requests to share help but are not remembered for more than a few minutes. It has to be a lasting impact. ALL my content has ties to FVSD but it has to be about the viewer and what they want out of the content. What is being offered.
This is extremely difficult to do when you have he social capacity of a brick to the face like me!
There have been other difficulties this summer with my children too where my sons are concerned. Oldest son is struggling being out of routine and has been becoming more and more dysregulated without school in his routine. He is showing more and more signs of severe ADHD/Autism and is due to be assessed in March. Younger son has started having reflux and spinal problems again although I am reluctant to take him to see paediatrician as historically concerns have been completely ignored and dismissed as my own anxiety. Its not that I want them to have problems they just do. It's my job as their mum to advocate for them and its usually a ongoing problem that we have been watching for some time.
